Mini-Club Programs

As an extension to our High-Yield Learning Activities & Enrichment Programs, BGCAS has created and implemented several Mini-Clubs that align with the interests of our Members.  These Mini-Clubs meet weekly and offer Members a chance to expand their skills and interests in areas such as culinary arts, fine arts, performing arts, digital arts and STEAM programs, and college- and career readiness.

Digital Arts Club exposes youth to different elements of digital arts by creating original works in different digital media forms, with the potential to be exhibited regionally and nationally. There are plenty of opportunities for all Club members to enter their artwork in the four categories: Music Making, Film, Design (graphic, logo, 3D) and App Pitch.

STEAM Club is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!

BGCAS offers free SAT/ACT/ASVAB tutoring for Members between the ages of 13 to 18.  Youth Development Professionals cover comprehensive lessons in English, Reading, Mathematics, General Studies, and Test-Taking Techniques.

The Culinary Arts Club delve into the art of preparing, cooking/baking, and presenting food. Club members have hosted several "Iron Chef" type events that showcased "Food Art" or gave members an opportunity to come up with their own healthy and nutritional recipes.

The Performing Arts Club is separated into three groups: Music, Dance, and Spoken Word Poetry. Club members put on special performances during Club events and have set goals to expand their talents beyond the Club walls to local competitions and showcases.
